Things to do in Baytown
March 1st, 2007 12:07 PM
If you ever get to the Baytown area, you'll quickly realize this quaint seaside community has many attractions for not only the residents here but also for tourists and visitors.  As a matter of fact, we get over 2 million visitors each year.

Baytown sits on the coast as the gateway to Orange County between the cities of Long Beach and Huntington Beach.  Baytown is small with a population of 30,000 but features a shady, tree-lined Main Street, an amazing beach and the second longest pier in California.

Because we have so many visitors each year, recreation is huge part of our local economy.   There are tons of restaurants and cafes including my favorite, Miss Mitchell's Tea Room, as well as shops for everything from skating, surfing, kiting, and bicycling.

One of my very favorite attractions is the Yellow Car Museum.  It's operated by our local Baytown Historical Society and it houses many items that detail the entire area's rich history.  It's open from 12 - 3 pm on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month.

If you get to Baytown any time soon you should really check out all the wonderful things our town has to offer.
